DONORS CHOOSE Opportunity!
We are so close! Only $145 left to go! Thank you to so many who have donated already! :-) I'd love to add some shorter Hokki Stools to our flexible seating arrangement! I have 6 already, but they are a hot commodity. If you would like to help out in providing these for our classroom this year, that would be amazing! Any amount helps! You can click on the link below. Thank you!!
Wiggle, Wiggle while you learn!
Oct. 15 - 19
This is a short week due to Conferences! No school on Thursday or Friday!
Conferences: Students are welcome at conferences, but I do not require it. I will let you make the decision of what you feel is best.
Math: We completed our first math unit today, and the kids took a quiz on their place value understanding and problem solving skills. I will review their tests and decide what further instruction is needed in specific areas. The next 1-2 weeks will be used to address any wholes in our understanding.
Reading: We are continuing our first reading unit. We are reading the book, Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo, to talk about character. This is such a great book, and the class is really enjoying it!
We are starting reading groups this week, so kids will be working on reading skills with those at their level. They will use their own books as well as shared texts.
Writing: We have completed our first writing project! Through weeks of brainstorming, developing characters, including a strong lead in and ending, drafting, revising and editing, students have typed up their final copies and we will be celebrating all of our hard work on Weds!
See you at conferences!
